Study Objectives

Provide strategic framework for Energy Efficiency (EE) and Renewable Energy (RE):-
Policy guidance
Planning guidelines
Urban design
Identify potential areas for EE & RE.
Provide specific planning guidelines for building design codes (GBI) to promote EE & RE.
Provide implementation plan (5,10, 15 years) 2015, 2020, 2025 for EE & RE
- Awareness program,
- Incentive mechanism,
- for stakeholders 

Completed First Stage: Report of Findings and Preliminary Recommendations.

- Review policy, legal, institutional, fiscal & regulatory instruments on RE and issues related to IM
- Evaluate implementation of govt policies on energy and potential for alternative /renewable energy in IM.
- Assess the potential of RE based on existing land use and projected land use in IM.
- Assessment of alternative energy based on current and future needs for IM.
- Assessment on existing procedures with regard to RE and make recommendations for improvement towards international std.
- Assessment on implementation mechanism, the role and responsibility of related agencies towards reliability and efficiency of RE.
