The traditional Aborigine Village of Pos Betau had to be relocated due to the construction of a highway. As a move to improve the living standards of the tribe, a modern village is constructed and electricity is provided by the solar PV power systems for each houses and common facilities such as public and prayer hall.

Solar PV system configuration for each house:

190w x 2 solar PV module

120 Ah x 6 solar batteries

350w inverter

20Amp charge controller

Rest and Recreation Facilities for Road Users

Fraser’s Hill, Pahang

Project Worth: RM 98,001.00 Year: 2009

In the process of upgrading tourism facilities, around Fraser’s hill, Tourism Malaysia has allocated substantial budget for the building of public facilities such as Rest Rooms and Prayer Rooms. “The Gap” is a travellers’ rest area before they embark on the steep climb/drive up to the hill resort. The Gap is also an established Bird Watchers’ Haven as it a stop for migratory birds as well as home of exotic local birds.

As there is no grid power supply to this area, the facilities have to be powered by a choice of either diesel-generator or solar photovoltaic system.

Diesel generator sets produce noise and air pollution which is definitely not suitable for an area deemed to offer bird-watching attractions and cool refreshing leisure holiday.
